Objective:To observe the effect of air pressure pump therapy on lower extremity deep vein thrombosis(DVT)and sleep quality in patients with spinal cord injury in Intensive Care department.Methods:Sixty-eight patients with spinal cord injury admitted to the Department of Intensive Care Medicine in Fuzhou Second General Hospital of Fujian Province from January 2021 to April 2022 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method, with 34 patients in each group. The control group was given routine guidance, and the observation group was treated with air pump on the basis of control group. The incidence of lower limb DVT formation, double swelling, plasma D-dimer level, popliteal vein blood flow velocity and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality index(PSQI)score before and 7 days after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results:The incidence of lower limb DVT in observation group was 5.9%(2/34),and the in-cidence of lower limb swelling was 17.6%(6/34);the incidence of lower limb DVT in control group was 23.5%(8/34),and the incidence of lower limb swelling was 41.2%(14/34).The incidence of lower limb DVT and swelling in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).After 7-day intervention, plasma D-dimer level in 2 groups was lower than that before intervention(P<0.05),and that of the observation group was lower than control group(P<0.05).After intervention,pop-liteal vein blood flow velocity in 2 groups was higher than that before intervention(P<0.05),and the observation group was high-er than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,PSQI scores in 2 groups were lower than before intervention(P<0.05),and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Pneumatic pump therapy can improve the lower extremity deep vein blood flow and hypercoagulability of the patients with spinal cord injury, reduce the incidence of lower extremity DVT and improve sleep quality.
