Effect of Intensive Pulmonary Rehabilitation Combined with Aerobic Exercise on Sleep Quality in Elderly Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective:To study the effect of intensive pulmonary rehabilitation(PR)combined with aerobic exercise on sleep quality in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:A total of 80 elderly patients with COPD in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from March 2021 to December 2022 were selected as research objects and di-vided into control group and observation group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given intensive pulmonary rehabilitation exercise, and the observation group was given aerobic exercise intervention on the basis of the control group.Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was used to compare the difference in sleep quality between the two groups.Polysleep monitor(PSG)was used to monitor total sleep time(TST),sleep latency(SL)and sleep efficiency(SE).St.George's Breathing Questionnaire(SGRQ)was used to compare the changes in living ability between the two groups.Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)was used to evaluate the severity of anxiety before and after nursing, and Hamilton De-pression Scale(HAMD)was used to evaluate the severity of depression before and after nursing. Results:After intervention,TST and SE scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and SL scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);after intervention,PSQI scores,HAMA scores,HAMD scores and SGRQ scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Intensive PR exercise combined with aerobic exercise can improve the sleep quality of elderly patients with COPD,reduce the symptoms of dyspnea,reg-ulate the adverse psychological state, and reduce the impact of the disease on life, which is worthy of clinical application.
