Objective:To explore the effects of lateral rotation sputum suction combined with respiratory reinforcement training on sleep quality and blood gas levels in nursing patients with respiratory failure. Methods:From March 2023 to March 2024,88 pa-tients with respiratory failure in Xinglin Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University were selected as the sub-jects.They were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method,44 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing support, and the observation group received lateral rotation sputum aspiration combined with intensive breathing training.Compare the sleep quality, blood gas levels, and exercise endurance between two groups. Results:The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group after nursing the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The blood gas level observation group was compared with the control group. After nursing, the blood oxygen partial pressure and blood oxygen saturation in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the carbon dioxide partial pressure was lower, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The night continuous sleep time and exercise endurance of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the night wake times of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:Conducting lateral rotation sputum suction combined with respiratory reinforcement training in the care of patients with respiratory failure can help improve their blood gas levels, improve their sleep quality, and increase their exercise endurance.
