Objective:This study aimed to investigate the effects of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation(NIPPV)therapy in patients with COPD and sleep apnea syndrome. Methods:A total of 100 patients diagnosed with COPD and sleep apnea syn-drome,admitted to Zhuxi County People's Hospital/Shiyan Taihe Medical Group Zhuxi Branch from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into an observation group(n=50)and a control group(n=50)according to random number table method. The control group received conventional treatment, while the intervention group received NIPPV therapy in addition to conventional treatment. Results:After intervention, the observation group exhibited significant increases in arterial blood pH,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and significant increases in PaO2,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and significant decrease in PaCO2,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared to the control group, the observation group showed significant improvements in FVC,FEV1,and FEV1/FVC%,the difference was statis-tically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In patients with COPD and sleep apnea syndrome,NIPPV therapy effectively improved arterial blood gas indicators and lung function.NIPPV,by providing positive pressure ventilation support,is beneficial for enhan-cing ventilation function and reducing respiratory mechanical load in these patients.
