Objective:To study the effect of benzalkonium chloride combined with nifuratel-nystatin in improving insomnia in pa-tients with fungal vaginitis.Methods:A total of 80 patients with fungal vaginitis treated at Gutian County General Hospital be-tween May 2022 and May 2023 were retrospectively selected as study subjects.Forty patients treated with nifuratel-nystatin were designated as the control group,and another 40 patients treated with a combination of benzalkonium chloride and nifuratel-nystatin were designated as the observation group.Clinical recovery,insomnia status[Athens Insomnia Scale(AIS)],comfort level[Gener-al Comfort Questionnaire(GCQ)],sleep quality[Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)],and quality of life were assessed in both groups.Results:Compared to the control group,the observation group experienced faster recovery of clinical symptoms,lower AIS scores at 5 and 10 days post-treatment,higher comfort scores,and better sleep quality.Additionally,the observation group showed significant improvements in daytime function,reduced sleep disturbances,enhanced sleep efficiency,decreased use of sleep medi-cations,shorter sleep latency,extended sleep duration,and improved overall sleep quality(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The combina-tion of benzalkonium chloride and nifuratel-nystatin proves highly effective in treating fungal vaginitis,facilitating symptom recov-ery,alleviating insomnia,and enhancing patient comfort and sleep quality.
