Objective:To analyze the effect of sandplay therapy from a positive psychology perspective on sleep improvement in postpartum depression patients receiving pharmacotherapy. Methods:A total of 86 patients diagnosed with postpartum depression and treated at Longyan People's Hospital from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were ran-domly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 43 cases in each group, based on their admission order. The con-trol group received conventional pharmacological treatment, while the observation group received pharmacotherapy alongside sand-play therapy from a positive psychology perspective. The two groups were compared in terms of depression symptoms, sleep quali-ty,and serum indicators before and after the intervention. Results:After the intervention, the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale(EPDS)scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scores in the observation group were also significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,the levels of serotonin(5-HT)and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group after the intervention(P<0.05).Con-clusion:Implementing sandplay therapy from a positive psychology perspective in postpartum depression patients receiving phar-macotherapy can improve depression symptoms, regulate 5-HT and BDNF levels, and enhance sleep quality.
