Objective:To analyze the effects of evidence-based pain management combined with protective sleep nursing on new-borns.Methods:A total of 80 newborns admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from May 2022 to February 2023 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 newborns in each group, according to their birth order. The control group received routine care, while the observation group received evidence-based pain management combined with protective sleep care. The two groups were compared in terms of pain, neurobehavioral outcomes, daily longest cry-ing time, and sleep indicators, including sleep quality and the incidence of poor sleep, before and after the intervention. Results:Before nursing, there were no significant differences in the indicators between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the observation group showed significantly better outcomes in pain, neurobehavior, daily longest crying time, and sleep quality com-pared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of evidence-based pain management combined with pro-tective sleep care in newborns can reduce pain caused by various nursing procedures, minimize crying and physical discomfort, support normal care, and improve sleep management. This approach promotes healthy neurodevelopment and the maturation of bod-ily organs in newborns.
