Objective:To observe the effect of ABC emotional intervention combined with OREM self-care comfort intervention on sleep quality in patients undergoing thyroid surgery. Methods:A total of 86 thyroid surgery patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University between March 2022 and October 2023 were selected as research subjects. They were randomly di-vided into a control group(n=43),receiving routine nursing care, and an observation group(n=43),receiving ABC emotional intervention combined with OREM self-care comfort intervention. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was used to compare changes in sleep quality before and after the intervention. The Self-care Ability Scale(ESC A)was used to assess self-concept,self-care responsibility,self-care skills, and health knowledge levels.Daily sleep duration, nighttime awakenings, and sleep latency were also compared between the two groups. Results:After intervention, the PSQI scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, while the ESC A scores were significantly higher in the observation group. The observation group had longer daily sleep duration, fewer nighttime awakenings, and shorter sleep latency compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:ABC emotional intervention combined with OREM self-care comfort intervention significantly improves sleep quality and psychological state in thyroid surgery patients,mak-ing it worthy of further clinical promotion and application.
