Objective:To analyze the effect of goal-oriented health education on sleep quality and quality of life in patients after hernia surgery. Methods:A total of 80 patients who underwent hernia surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group(n=40),which re-ceived routine postoperative nursing care, and an observation group(n=40),which received goal-oriented health education inter-ventions.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was used to compare the sleep quality of the two groups, and the Short Form Health Survey(SF-36)was used to assess changes in quality of life before and after the intervention. Results:After intervention, the PSQI scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, while the SF-36 scores were sig-nificantly higher in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Goal-oriented health education can significantly improve the sleep quality and quality of life of patients after hernia surgery, making it worthy of promotion and application in clinical practice.
