Effect of Comfort-oriented Light Sedation Nursing Combined with Mechanical Ventilation on Sleep Quality in Postoperative Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury
Objective:To observe the effect of comfort-oriented light sedation nursing combined with mechanical ventilation on the improvement of sleep in postoperative patients with traumatic brain injury(TBI).Methods:A total of 86 TBI patients admitted to the ICU of Longyan People's Hospital from October 2022 to October 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an ob-servation group, with 43 patients in each group. The control group received mechanical ventilation and routine care, while the ob-servation group received comfort-oriented light sedation nursing in addition to mechanical ventilation. The clinical outcomes,dosa-ges of analgesics and sedatives, and sleep quality were compared between the two groups. Results:The duration of mechanical ventilation and ICU stay were significantly shorter in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).The dosages of fentanyl and dexmedetomidine were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Both groups showed significant improvement in the Sleep State Self-Rating Scale(SRSS)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)af-ter intervention compared to pre-intervention(P<0.05),with the observation group demonstrating a more pronounced decrease in SRSS and PSQI scores(P<0.05).Conclusion:Comfort-oriented light sedation nursing combined with mechanical ventilation can accelerate recovery in TBI patients, reduce the need for analgesics and sedatives, and significantly improve sleep quality,demon-strating good potential for wider clinical application.
