Objective:To analyze the effect of extended intervention on sleep quality in patients undergoing colorectal cancer sur-gery.Methods:A total of 84 colorectal cancer patients admitted to Dehua County Hospital from February 2022 to April 2024 were selected as research subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group(n=42),receiving routine nursing care, and an ob-servation group(n=42),receiving extended nursing intervention. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was used to compare sleep quality between the two groups, and the Short Form Health Survey(SF-36)was used to evaluate changes in quality of life before and after intervention.A self-designed questionnaire was used to assess patients'knowledge, belief, and behavior levels across three dimensions. Results:After intervention, the PSQI scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, while SF-36 scores were significantly higher. The observation group also showed significantly higher scores in quality of life and knowledge, belief, and behavior compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Extended intervention can improve sleep quality and quality of life of patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery,as well as enhance their knowledge, beliefs, and behaviors related to the disease, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
