CCS(carbon capture and storage)technology is a major technology to achieve the"dual carbon"goal. How to use CCS technology to achieve carbon reduction has become a hot issue of global concern.Due to the good sealing and huge storage potential of geological bodies,CO2 geological storage has become the preferred method of carbon storage.A simple CO2 geological storage project is expensive and not suitable for large-scale promotion; The CO2 injection technology for improving oil and gas recovery in oil and gas reservoirs has become relatively mature globally, but its main purpose is to improve oil and gas recovery.Combining these two can significantly improve oil and gas recovery, while also achieving long-term safe CO2 storage and saving carbon storage costs. On the basis of elaborating on the mechanism and current development status of CO2 geological storage and CO2 injection to improve oil and gas recovery technology,it is proposed that under the"dual carbon"vision,China's oil and gas industry should vigorously develop CCUS(carbon capture, utilization and storage)technology to improve oil and gas recovery, achieve green resource utilization of CO2,and achieve a win-win situation of both CO2 geological storage and oil and gas recovery. At the same time,it points out the current technological bottlenecks and the direction for further development, especially with the development of unconventional and difficult to recover reserves in the field of oil and gas exploration and development. It is more important and urgent for China to vigorously develop CCUS to improve oil and gas recovery technology, and it has broad application prospects. It is of great significance for China to successfully achieve the"dual carbon"goal, ensure national energy security, and sustainable high-quality development
