With the annual increase in global CO2 emissions, climate change and CO2 emissions have become global issues.CO2 reduction and utilization are at the core of achieving the'dual carbon'goals. The development of renewable energy and clean energy utilization technologies has become an effective pathway to realizing the'dual carbon'strategic objectives. The production of green hydrogen from renewable energy sources and the synthesis of green methanol through industrial CO2 capture construct a zero-carbon cycle system for carbon-based chemicals, enabling the utilization of CO2 resources and providing a clean,pollution-free source of green methanol.Addressing the economic challenges of coupling renewable energy-based green hydrogen production with CO2-based green methanol production,it is analyzed the prospects of renewable energy-based green hydrogen production. It combines industry research and data compilation to perform a technical and economic analysis of green methanol production from green hydrogen. It is projected that in the future, with the vigorous development of renewable energy, reduced cost-sharing will lead to lower prices for green electricity and green hydrogen,an increase in carbon reduction subsidies, the development of efficient and stable catalysts, advancements in pressure swing adsorption technology, and improved synthesis tower efficiency.Green hydrogen production combined with CO2 for green methanol production is expected to have a promising future compared to traditional methanol production technologies, providing the green hydrogen-to-green methanol industry with technical insights and economic analysis methods.
