Geological characteristics and prospecting indicators of Ewanet gold and copper deposits in Eritrea
Eritrea is located in the central part of the Arabian Nubian Shield in the East African Orogenic Belt.Various intrusive and volcanic rocks of the Pan African period are widely developed in the area, making it an important potential area for gold and copper exploration. The Ewanet gold and copper deposit is located at the southern end of the Asmara northwest trending tectonic deformation zone, with well-developed fault structures in the area.Fault structures are important ore-forming and controlling factors in the area. They not only serve as channels for mineral fluid migration, but also provide favorable space for mineral fluid storage.By studying the geological background, rock alteration, and prospecting indicators of the ore deposit, the genesis of the deposit has been basically identified. The research results provide good reference for the exploration of gold and copper deposits in Northeast Africa.
