The geotectonic location of Xiataolegai Iron Mine in Ejina Banner,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is located in Tianshan geosyncline fold system(Ⅰ)and Beishan Late Hualixi geosyncline fold belt(Ⅱ).The tertiary tectonic unit is Beishan Uplift(ш),which belongs to the ancient Asian metallogenic domain,Zhungeer metallogenic province and Jueluotag-Heiyingshan Cu,Ni,Fe,Au,Ag,Mo,W and gypsum metallogenic belt.The deep copper body in the Lower Tolgai West deposit mainly occurs in the skarn near the contact zone between the second member of the Lower Carboniferous Lutiaoshan Formation and Varissian potassic granite.
