Research on the Mechanism and Optimal Content of MgO Additives for Improving the Performance of Flux based Pellets
This article aims to study the mechanism and optimal content of MgO additives for improving the performance of flux based pellets. This article investigates the effects of the types and contents of magnesium oxide additives on CS,RSI,RDI,and droplet performance. The research results indicate that the strength of pellets containing MgO additive is slightly lower than that of pellets containing LBM additive. The flux based pellets using magnesite additive show the highest RSI,while the flux based pellets using magnesite additive have the highest RDI.LBM is a more suitable MgO additive for flux based pellets. As the MgO additive content increases from 0%to 2.0%,the compressive strength of the pellets gradually decreases from 3015N to 2689N.The liquid phase temperature and viscosity of the slag in the pellets also increase, leading to an increase in the softening drop temperature of MgO melt pellets during the softening drop process.
