Investigation and Countermeasures for Porosity in Welding of Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy
With the continuous development of science and technology, various types of new materials have been applied and their usage has been continuously expanded.Aluminum alloy is an advanced technological achievement with high technological content. It has excellent corrosion resistance, high low-temperature strength, relatively lightweight compared to other metals, and durable properties.Currently, this material has attracted attention from industrial enterprises and is widely used, especially in special industries such as petrochemical engineering and cryogenic engineering, where the high strength and corrosion resistance attributes are favored. However, there is still an important issue that needs to be addressed, which is that aluminum-magnesium alloy is relatively hard, lightweight, and has thin walls, making it prone to porosity during welding, significantly affecting the quality of engineering projects. In order to effectively avoid and address this issue, this paper explores porosity in welding of aluminum-magnesium alloy and proposes corresponding countermeasures.
