Three dimensional geological model and prospecting direction of KOLWEZI copper(cobalt)deposit in the Democratic Republic of Congo
The KOLWEZI copper(cobalt)deposit in the Democratic Republic of Congo is located on the Katanga copper cobalt mineralization belt. The deposit is mainly composed of copper, accompanied by cobalt deposits, and mainly occurs in the Ron Group mining subgroup(R2).It is mainly composed of layered ore bodies and is clearly controlled by strata and structures; This article uses Surpac software to establish a geological model based on a detailed study of the structure, strata, and ore body characteristics of the mining area, delineates 38 industrial ore bodies, and uses the Inverse Distance Method to estimate resource reserves; After research, the ore body of the Zhi-1200 line in the eastern part of the mining area has great potential for closed exploration. It remains to be explored whether there are other ore bearing layers in the lower part of the RAT purple red sandstone in the mining area.
