Corrosion performance of superhydrophobic organic-inorganic thin films
The present study is focus on the anti-corrosion properties of the films with cauliflower-like structures with micro-nano scale particles, which is prepared by electrochemical modification of aluminum surfaces using different DC voltage to render NiSA2-Ni(OH)2 films superhydrophobic in a one-step process. The morphological features, composition and water repellence properties before and after corrosion was studied by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and Wetting analysis. The polarization resistance of the superhydrophobic NiSA2-Ni(OH)2 film is larger than that of the cleaned aluminum alloy substrate, with an excellent corrosion resistance property. For the superhydrophobic NiSA2-Ni(OH)2 film, the number of corrosion pits was decrease and the size of corrosion pits was smaller than that of the cleaned aluminum.
