Geochemical and Chronological Studies on Single Mineral of Cassiterite in Gejiu Laochang Mining Area and Analysis of Its Metallogenic Significance
Gejiu tin-polymetallic deposit is a super large tin-copper polymetallic deposit, which belongs to the tin-stone-sulfide type deposit. It includes cassiterite-bearing skarn deposits,vein-type deposits(commonly known as reticulate ore),interbedded oxidized ore deposits,silicate-carbonate-sulfide deposits, and copper deposits in varying basic volcanic rocks,as well as tin-bearing granite-type placer deposits.Tin minerals have been found in all these deposits, but research on tin minerals is limited. In this paper, the author analyzes the substitution mechanism of tin in different types of tin minerals, the relationship between the color of tin minerals and their chemical compositions in the old mining area of Gejiu, and determines the ore-forming age of the tin deposit. The study aims to differentiate the characteristics of tin minerals in different types of tin deposits using single mineral analysis, further understanding the physical and chemical conditions during the crystallization of tin minerals, differentiating the genetic types of deposits, establishing an ore-forming model for the old mining area of Gejiu tin-polymetallic deposit, and providing guidance for geological exploration in the Gejiu mining area.
