Research on Optimization of Cathode Plate Design in Wet Zinc Smelting System
By analyzing the forms of precipitated zinc, the main factors affecting DC power consumption and product quality have been identified. For further research,we determined the relative dimensions of the anode and cathode plates in the wet zinc refining system and optimized the design scheme of the cathode plate. This optimization eliminates the precipitation phenomenon of nodular grains along the lower edge of the cathode, improves the circulating flow field in the tank, reduces the concentration difference of Zn2+in the electrolyte, lowers the temperature rise during the electrodeposition process, and fundamentally enhances the stability of the electrodeposition process. These improvements have achieved the goal of reducing the DC power consumption index of zinc electroplating, while reducing the effective area of the anode, achieving the goals of energy conservation, improving product quality, and reducing production costs.
