Geological characteristics and prospecting indicators of CHEGUTU GOLD gold deposit in Zimbabwe
The surrounding rock of the CHEGUTU GOLD gold deposit is a belt like iron bearing siliceous rock, iron magnesium schist, metamorphic dolomite, and serpentinite of the Archaean Sebakui series. The gold mineralization is closely related to the NNW trending ductile shear zone in the area, and the overall occurrence of the ore body is consistent with the occurrence of mylonitic foliation in the area. The ore type is mainly quartz vein type.Surrounding rock alteration includes silicification, sericitization, chloritization, carbonation, etc.,with silicification being the main type. The closer to the ore body, the stronger the silicification; The ore body is mainly composed of metal mineralization, with pyrite and brass mineralization being common.Metal sulfides are positively correlated with gold enrichment, and the genesis type of the deposit is metamorphic hydrothermal. There are multiple obvious prospecting indicators, and the research results provide important references for future geological exploration.
