Geological characteristics, genesis and prospecting indicators of Wangjiazhuang Beigou molybdenum deposit in Chengde County,Hebei Province
The Wangjiazhuang Beigou molybdenum deposit is located in Chengde County,Hebei Province. The molybdenum ore body is controlled by a nearly east-west normal fault and is located in the fractured zone of the dolomite structure of the Wumishan Formation in the Jixian Group of the Middle Proterozoic and the volcanic rocks of the Zhangjiakou Formation in the Lower Cretaceous. It is closely related to the locally developed quartz diorite porphyry veins with molybdenum mineralization.Molybdenum ore bodies are distributed in a layered manner, mainly consisting of oxidized ores and mixed ores.Oxidized ores develop honeycomb and pebble like structures, while mixed ores exhibit vein like, impregnated, and pebble like structures. The main metallic minerals are molybdenite, molybdenite, etc. Therefore,it is speculated that the Wangjiazhuang Beigou molybdenum deposit is a shallow to ultra shallow hydrothermal molybdenum deposit controlled by tectonic fracture zones. The molybdenum deposits and iron caps on the surface are direct indicators for mineral exploration, while the intersection of structures and abnormal element combinations are the main indirect indicators for mineral exploration.
