Research on the Wear Mechanism and Technology for Extending the Service Life of Slurry Pump
As a key equipment in mineral processing and smelting processes, especially in the extraction of non-ferrous metals(mainly copper mines),the efficiency and durability of slurry pumps directly affect production costs and output. This article delves into the wear mechanism of slurry pumps, particularly studying the wear behavior of their impellers and pump casings under different operating conditions.By collecting and analyzing real operational data, this article reveals the specific effects of operational parameters such as flow rate, slurry density, and solid particle size on wear rate.On this basis, this article proposes a series of technical improvement measures and maintenance strategies to significantly extend the service life of slurry pumps. These measures include adopting new wear-resistant materials, optimizing pump design parameters, and implementing regular maintenance plans.Experimental results have shown that these improvements can increase the average trouble free operation time of slurry pumps by 30%,thereby bringing significant economic benefits to the mineral processing and smelting industries.
