Study on Nominal Stress of Concrete with Single Reinforcement
In order to study the effect of steel reinforcement on the nominal stress of concrete, the axial compression tests and finite element simulation were carried out on 18 concrete prisms with single steel reinforcement. The results show that the splitting effect of steel bar on protective layer concrete exists, and this effect affects the nominal stress of concrete. The nominal stress of concrete is not affected when the diameter of steel bar is proportional to the thickness of the protective layer of concrete, that is,the ratio of diameter to thickness is unchanged. When the cross-section size is constant, the nominal stress of concrete decreases with the increase of reinforcement diameter. When the size of reinforcement is unchanged, the nominal value of concrete increases with the increase of the thickness of concrete protective layer. The established finite element model can well predict the deformation and bearing capacity of the specimen, and the modeling method can provide a reference for the finite element analysis of similar specimens.
