Analysis of Vegetation Cover Change and Driving Factors in Brahmaputra River Basin from 1982 to 2020
Based on GIMMS NDVI dataset, combined with meteorological and soil data, this study analyzed the spatio-temporal characteristics and related driving factors of vegetation cover in Brahmaputra River basin in recent 39 years by using the methods of ordered cluster mutation analysis, linear regression analysis and geographic detector. The results showed that the vegetation cover of Brahmaputra River basin showed an upward trend during the period from 1982 to 2020.The vegetation cover change was basically stable, and the area of improved area was higher than that of degraded area.NDVI is positively correlated with precipitation and temperature, and the correlation coefficient between NDVI and precipitation is large, indicating that the change of NDVI is more closely related to rainfall.Driving force analysis shows that elevation is the dominant factor of vegetation cover in Brahmaputra River basin. The interactions between soil moisture and altitude, rainfall and altitude, and soil moisture and soil temperature are the dominant interactions of vegetation cover.
