The rise and abolition of the imperial examination in the Yuan Dynasty directly or indirectly decides the formation and change of the literary structure in Jifu area.In the early days of the Yuan Dynasty,the imperial examination is not effective for a long time,and scholars are unable to enter the officialdom through the examination channel,which leads to the emergence of a lage number of outstanding literary talents and the prosperity of Jifu drama.In the Yanyou Period of the Yuan Dynasty,the opening of the imperial examination revitalizes morale,and the telents selected by the imperial examination becomes the mainstay of the literary world in Jifu.Traditional poetry and prose creation gradually tends towords refinement;The repeated abolition and restoration of the imperial examination system in the later period causes turmoil in people's hearts,and the literature of Jifu gradually declines.The implementation of the imperial examination in the Yuan Dynasty not only affects the life choice and emotional mentality of the writers,but also the ideological pursuit and artistic expression of them.The Ci and Qu,especially Zaju,are at the forefront of popular literature in the country,the poetry and prose also present a diversified literary outlook in the competition between the reverence for ancient literature and the pursuit of scientifi and artistic.
