The Impact of Population Flow on the Health Level of Residents in the Outflow Area under the Background of Urban-Rural Integration Development
Health is an important component of human capital,an inevitable requirement for the promotion of comprehensive human development,a basic condition for economic and social develop-ment,and a fundamental element for promoting common prosperity.Based on the Chinese population census and sample survey data from 1990,2000,2005,2010,2015 and 2020,this paper examined the impact of population flow on the health level of residents in outflow areas by using a two-way fixed effects model. The research has found that population flow has a negative impact on health level of residents in outflow areas, regardless of whether demographic, economic and social control variables are added, and the conclusion is still valid under the robustness test.Further analysis of the mecha-nism of action reveals that population flow affects the health of residents through the effect of aging in outflow areas, health overdraft in inflow areas, and slowing down the economic development in out-flow areas.Based on the above conclusions, relevant suggestions are proposed from three aspects:building a cross-space collaborative health security linkage mechanism, establishing a sound health protection service system covering the entire flow cycle of the flowing population, and deepening the comprehensive health service for the flowing population,so as to provide references for the national and local governments to promote the construction of"Healthy China"and the realization of common prosperity.
