Analysis of the Impact of Land Development Around Rail Transit Station on Passenger Flow Characteristics
Taking Changsha rail transit as the research subject, this study investigated the relation-ship between passenger flow characteristics at rail transit stations and the surrounding land develop-ment.The analysis was based on AFC data from May 2023,points of interest(POI)data within 600 meters of metro station entrances and exits, and mobile signaling data. The stations were categorized in-to four types based on two dimensions of station traffic volume and passenger flow uniformity.Using the K-means clustering algorithm, the stations were further classified into six types based on character-istics of surrounding land development, number of jobs, and resident population.Subsequently, the random forest regression algorithm was used to analyze the impact of land development characteristics on the passenger flow features of the station. The study indicates that business residential areas,finan-cial and insurance services, corporate enterprises, and educational and cultural facilities significantly at-tract passenger flow to the stations.Additionally, corporate enterprises, financial and insurance serv-ices,and shopping services consistently sustain passenger flow at the stations.
