This study investigates the current situation and the realization path of teacher's classification evaluation in higher vocational colleges.By conducting the field survey and telephone interview of 6 higher vocational colleges in China and text research of domestic universities,we found that various problems exist in the current teacher's classification evaluation of higher vocational colleges. Those problems include the insufficient classification and evaluation of college teachers, the one-fold evaluation criteria, the convergence of evaluation methods, the low degree of socialization of evaluation, and the insufficient implementation of the autonomy of employing subjects.Based on the current situation of classification evaluation and the needs of vocational colleges,we propose a new evaluation mechanism, which adheres to the goal of the people-oriented and on-demand development, and establishes the orientation of both quality and contribution. The new mechanism promotes the transformation from single to multiple evaluation, from qualitative evaluation to quantitative and qualitative combination, and from static classification to dynamic classification. This new mechanism also establishes a diversified teacher's classification evaluation system, which is innovation stimulative, vibrant and sustainable.
