Mud pumping in ballasted railway subgrades is one of the common issues affecting railway lines in China,compromising operational safety and requiring treatment measures.This paper provides an overview of the mechanism behind mud pumping in ballasted railway subgrades,reviews the traditional treatment techniques commonly used in China,and focuses on summarizing the new technologies and their application effects in subgrade treatment.The aim is to offer reference for future mud pumping treatment in ballasted railways,ensuring the safe operation of railway lines.
