Improvement Design for Low-Yield Chimonobambusa utilis Forest
Low-yield Chimonobambusa utilis forest is common in many places. In order to improve its economic and ecological benefits, this paper proposes the plans and technical measures for improving the low-yield Ch.utilis forest of different types in accordance with relevant standards and literature.Low-yield bamboo forest improvement should follow the principle of combining natural restoration and artificial promotion, take into account both short-term and long-term benefits, and implement the scientifically rational and economically feasible technical measures tailored to local conditions and forest conditions.Thinning is the most important method to improve either the low-yield secondary forests or the low-yield artificial forests. In the process of thinning,it is imperative to achieve the goal of"cutting the old and keeping the young bamboo, cutting dense forest and keeping sparse forest, cutting small culms and keeping large culms, cutting weak and keeping strong, and maintaining the scattered bamboo in forest gaps and the bamboo at the forest edge",so to ensure there are no disease and pest infected bamboo,no old and weak bamboo,no withered standing bamboo,no damaged bamboo, and no high logging stakes in the forest. For sparse or aged bamboo forests and forest gaps, appropriate replanting should be carried out in a timely manner to restore them back into forest as soon as possible.
