Effects of Persistent Drought Stress on the Chlorophyll Fluorescence Parameters of Moso Bamboo Seedlings
To explore the responses of chlorophyll content and chlorophyll fluorescence of moso bamboo seedlings to persistent drought stress, the paper takes 6-month-old moso bamboo seedlings as the materials and the normal water supply as a control in pot culture to analyze the changes in leaf SPAD values and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of the seedlings under persistent drought stress. The results show that the leaf SPAD values of moso bamboo seedlings present the trend of first increasing and then gradually decreasing when the persistent drought stress has changed overtime. The maximum chlorophyll fluorescence Fm,maximum quantum yield of PSII Fv/Fm,actual photochemical efficiency Y(II),and photochemical quenching qP all show an overall decreasing trend, while non-photochemical quenching NPQ show a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. The results provide a foundation for the future research on the drought resistance of moso bamboo.
