Fiber Morphology,Chemical Composition and Pulping Properties of Three Bamboo Species in Yibin City,Sichuan Province
In order to make rational use of bamboo resources in Yibin city,Sichuan province, and develop the bamboo paper industry, three species of sympodial bamboo are selected,i.e.Dendrocalamus minor var.amoenus,D.mutatus and D.farinosus,to analyze fiber morphology, chemical composition and pulping properties. The results show that the average fiber length of the three species is more than 1.6 mm,and the length-width ratio is higher than 90.From the perspective of chemical composition, there is no significant difference in holocellulose content, hemicellulose content and benzene alcohol extract content among the three species. The holocellulose content is higher than 70%except for D.farinosus, which meets the requirements over the paper-making quality. The average lignin content of D.mutatus is relatively high, which is 23.08%.The average ash content of D.farinosus is 1.48%,significantly higher than that of the other two species. In summary, the timber of the three species can be used as the material for paper making. From the perspectives of reducing the difficulty and the cost of processing,D.minor var.amoenus, which has low lignin and low ash content, can be selected as the high-quality materials for pulping and papermaking.
