Bamboo is a green,low-carbon,and biodegradable biomass material,making it an optimal substitute for plastics.Bamboo fibers boast the advantages of abundance,cost-effectiveness,lightweight,environmentally friendliness,and high specific strength.The bamboo fiber-reinforced polypropylene composites prepared with polypropylene have the advantages of both bamboo and plastic,offering a resource-efficient and eco-friendly material.These composites serve as a low-carbon material to achieve"bamboo as a substitute for plastic".This paper reviews the research advancements in bamboo fiber-reinforced polypropylene composites in terms of material properties,preparation methods,and performance testing.It also analyzes the current applications of the composites and outlines future research priorities and potential applications.The insights provided aim to support the innovation and development of products for accomplishing the initiative of"bamboo as a substitute for plastics".
