Anhui province is one of the key bamboo production areas in China and also one of the main plastic product production areas in the country.Promoting the initiative of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"can not only strengthen plastic pollution control and high-quality development of the bamboo industry in Anhui province,but also open up new paths for the building of a beautiful Anhui.This paper analyzes the three major opportunities faced by Anhui province in implementing the Three Year Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of"Bamboo as A Substitute for Plastic"issued by the National Development and Reform Commission with other ministries and administrations,including market,policy,and technology,as well as a series of challenges such as high costs in bamboo harvesting,outdated technology and processes,weak foundation for bamboo processing industry,and insufficient recognition.It also puts forward suggestions to promote the implementation of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"initiative and increase its effectiveness in Anhui province,including optimizing the layout of bamboo industry,promoting technological innovations,strengthening the bamboo industrial elements,and expanding the bamboo products market to find a path of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"in line with bamboo resources and bamboo industry in Anhui province.
