In the context of reducing plastic pollution globally,"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"as a nature-based solution can help achieve the"dual carbon"goal and promote green,low-carbon,and high-quality socioeconomic development in China.With the continuous emergence of new technologies and mew products,bamboo products are on the track from"more"to"better",presenting the transformation towards green and high-end bamboo industry.Based on the investigation of the current status of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"in Linxiang city,Hunan province,this paper proposes suggestions for the healthy development of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic"in the city,to solve the problems such as the differences between bamboo and plastic in properties,high cost of bamboo products,low public awareness,and insufficient momentum for policy implementation.These suggestions include increasing publicity,strengthening policy guidance,enhancing resource cultivation,promoting the applications in the public domain,and facilitating to support the applications to key industries.
