Practices of Integrating the Regional Characteristics of Bamboo Weaving into Creative Cultural Product Design Under the Background of"Bamboo as a Substitute for Plastic":Investigation of Bamboo Weaving Intangible Cultural Heritage Project in Zhejiang Provi
Bamboo weaving is a well-known traditional handicraft in China,which is now challenged by the problems such as fewer categories of products,innovation insufficiency,lower attraction to young consumers and low added value of products.Under the background of"bamboo as a substitute for plastic",creative cultural products of bamboo weaving have been attracting increasing attention from craftsmen,experts and scholars.The paper analyzes the functional values of traditional bamboo weaving,including cultural inheritance,economic practicality and humanistic care,and examines the regional characteristics of Dongyang Bamboo Weaving and Shengzhou Bamboo Weaving in Zhejiang Province.Then the regional characteristics of Dongyang Bamboo Weaving such as three-dimensional characteristics and Shengzhou Bamboo Weaving such as criss-cross weaving patterns are applied to creative cultural product designs from the viewpoint of modern design,aiming to make up for the shortage of innovation in the modern design.This provides new ideas for the development of bamboo weaving process,and more scenarios of application for"bamboo as a substitute for plastic".
