Clinical Study on Infantile Asthma at Remittent Stage Treated with Seasonal Acupoint Application and Chinese Herbal Ointment
Objective To discuss the clinical therapeutic effects on infantile asthma at remittent stage treated with seasonal acupoint application(the treatment in summer for the disorder in winter)and Chinese herbal ointment to provide the evidences for clinical treatment.Methods Sixty children of asthma at remittent stage were collected in the clinic of Department of Pediatrics in our hospital were taken as the subjects and randomly divided into two groups,30 cases in each one.In the treatment group,the seasonal acupoint application and Chinese herbal ointment were adopted.In the control group,pulmicort was used.The attack frequency,admission frequency,common cold morbidity,the symptoms at attack such as whooping,short breath,cough,expectoration and wheezing rales as well as the changes in IgE,IgG,IgA and EOS before and after treatment were compared in 40 weeks.Results The differences were significant in attack frequency,admission frequency,the symptoms at attack such as whooping,short breath,cough,expectoration and wheezing rales after treatment as compared with those before treatment in the two groups(P<0.05).The results in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The morbidity of common cold,IgE,IgG,IgA and EOS were not different significantly before and after treatment in the control group(P>0.05);and those were different significantly in the treatment group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined treatment of seasonal acupoint application and Chinese herbal ointment is one of the convenient and effective method in prevention and treatment of infantile asthma and deserves to be promoted in clinical application.
