Prescription Rules of Modern Doctors in Treatment of Viral Encephalitis
Objective To mine the data of modern doctors in the treatment of viral encephalitis with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and summarize their prescription rules.Methods The medical cases of viral encephalitis were collected by searching the Ancient and Modern Medical Records cloud platform,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,and China Science and Technology Journal Database from the inception of the databases to Octo-ber 31,2022,as well as the medical case books such as The Complete Compilation of Experiences of Famous Old Chinese Medicine Practitioners(Ming Lao Zhong Yi Jing Yan Quan Bian),The Collection of Academic Experiences of Famous Old Chinese Medicine Experts in China(Zhong Guo Ming Lao Zhong Yi Yao Zhuan Jia Xue Shu Jing Yan Ji),and The Essence of Medical Cases of Famous Modern Chinese Medicine Practitioners in China(Zhong Guo Jin Xian Dai Ming Zhong Yi Yi An Jing Hua).The TCM prescriptions were extracted.Frequency statistics,correlation analysis and cluster analysis were performed using the Ancient and Modern Medical Records cloud platform and SPSS software,and complex network analysis was performed using Cytoscape to analyze the high-frequency medicines,key pairs,commonly used prescriptions and core prescriptions in the treatment of viral encephalitis.Results A total of 148 papers,167 prescriptions and 260 herbal medi-cines were included in this study.There were 22 high-frequency herbal medicines,including Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma,Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma,Rhei Radix Et Rhizoma,Flos Lonicerae Japonicae,Radix Curcumae,Fructus Forsythiae,Ramulus Uncariae Cum Uncis,Radix Rehmanniae,Radix Scutellariae,and Gypsum Filrosum.The commonly used herb pairs involved Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma Radix Curcumae-Ramulus Uncariae Cum Uncis,raw Radix Rehmannia Radix Scrophulariae,Gypsum Filrosum-Rhizoma Anemarrhenae,and other two pairs.There were five commonly used prescrip-tions,including Qingwen Baidu Decoction,Small Chengqi Decoction,Changpu Yujin Decoction,and eight commonly used Chinese patent medicines,including Angong Niuhuang Pill and Zixue Pill.Conclusion The data reveals that modern doc-tors treat viral encephalitis with both tonification and elimination,treating the symptoms by clearing heat,removing toxin,resolving phlegm,opening orifices,soothing liver,extinguishing wind,activating blood,dredging collaterals,moving qi and unblocking fu-organs.They also pay attention to the use of medicines for reinforcing healthy qi such as those for replenis-hing qi and nourishing yin.
