Treatment of Migraine Attack with Toutong Lixiao Patch:A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
Objective To discuss the efficacy and safety of Toutong Lixiao Patch for migraine attack.Methods A total of 60 migraine patients who were admitted to the Department of Headache Specialist and Department of Encephalop-athy,Dongzhimen Hospital,Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from September 2018 to December 2018 were selected.They were assigned to a control group and an experimental group by random number table,with 30 in each group.The pa-tients in the control group were treated with ibuprofen capsule 0.3 g orally during migraine attack,while those in the exper-imental group were treated with Toutong Lixiao Patch on both temples.After 4 weeks of treatment,headache disappearance and headache remission in both groups after 2 hours of medication,as well as the degree of headache[visual analogue scale(VAS)score]and accompanying symptom scores between the two groups before and after treatment were observed.Results There were no significant differences between the two groups in headache disappearance and headache remission after 2 hours of medication as well as VAS score(P＞0.05).Both groups had a decrease in accompanying symptom scores after treatment(P＜0.05),and the experimental group was better than the control group(P＜0.05).During treatment,no difference was found between the two groups in adverse reactions(x2=0.448,P=0.503).Conclusion Toutong Lixiao Patch can alleviate migraine,and is superior to ibuprofen capsule in improving the accompanying symptoms.
