Therapeutic Effect of Rongshi Paishi Decoction Combined with Conventional West-ern Medicine on Small Urinary Calculi(Syndrome of Dampness-Heat Pouring Down)
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Rongshi Paishi Decoction combined with conventional Western medicine on small urinary calculi in the patients with the syndrome of dampness-heat pouring down.Methods Eighty patients with small urinary calculi(syndrome of dampness-heat pouring down)treated in the Second Department of Nephropathy of Lu'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2019 to April 2022 were selected and assigned into a study group and a control group according to the random number table,with 40 patients in each group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine,while the study group was additionally treated with Rongshi Paishi Decoction.The treatment lasted for a month.The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores before and after treatment,stone ex-cretion rate,time to stone discharge,and stone downward moving distance were determined.The clinical efficacy and the in-cidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05),and the VAS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).The stone excretion rate in the study group was 60.00％(24/40),which was higher than that(37.50％,15/40)in the control group(x2=4.053,P=0.044).The proportion of stones moving downward in the study group was 40.00％(16/40),which was lower than that(62.50％,25/40)in the control group(x2=4.053,P=0.044).The study group had shorter time to stone discharge(P＜0.05)and longer downward moving distance of stone than the con-trol group(P＜0.05).The total response rate in the study group was 95.00％(38/40),which was higher than that(77.50％,31/40)in the control group(P＜0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions showed no significant difference be-tween the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Rongshi Paishi Decoction combined with conventional Western medicine has a significant effect on small urinary calculi in the patients with the syndrome of dampness-heat pouring down,which can accelerate stone discharge with high safety.
