Effect of Wulong Wufu Decoction Combined with Methotrexate on Rheumatoid Arthri-tis Patients and Its Impact on Rheumatoid Factor and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Wulong Wufu Decoction combined with methotrex-ate in treating patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA)and the impact on rheumatoid factor(RF)and erythrocyte sedimenta-tion rate(ESR).Methods A total of 84 RA patients were admitted to the Department of Nephrology and Rheumatology,Zhengzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital From January 2021 to January 2023 were selected.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group by a random number table,with 42 in each group.The control group was given methotrexate,while the observation group was treated with Wulong Wufu Decoction in addition to methotrexate.After 12 weeks of treatment,clinical efficacy,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,joint function recovery,plasma levels of RF and ESR,and the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups were observed and compared.Results The total effective rate of the observation group(92.86％,39/42)was higher than that of the control group(73.81％,31/42)(P＜0.05).After treatment,both groups showed a reduction in TCM syndrome scores,joint swelling count,joint tenderness count,morning stiffness duration,and VAS score(P＜0.05),with the observation group exhibiting greater improvements than the control group in all these measures(P＜0.05).Additionally,both groups had lowered RF and ESR after treatment(P＜0.05),and the observation group had lower levels than the control group(P＜0.05).The in-cidence of adverse reactions during treatment was not significantly different between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclu-sion Wulong Wufu Decoction combined with methotrexate is remarkably effective in treating RA patients,which alleviates clinical symptoms,reduces RF and ESR,demonstrating high safety.
