Diabetes mellitus(DM),as one of the four major chronic diseases, severely affects human health with a concerning prevalence trend.Diabetic constipation,a common complication of DM,is prevalent and significantly diminishes the quality of life of patients.Recent studies have uncovered a strong link between intestinal flora and diabetic constipa-tion,and this connection is consistent with the physiological and pathological concepts of the spleen in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).TCM methods for diabetic constipation from the perspective of spleen deficiency can effectively regulate the intestinal flora and yield positive therapeutic outcomes. This paper,by integrating TCM theory with modern medical in-sights and examining the interplay among the intestinal flora, spleen deficiency, and diabetic constipation, explored the treatment of diabetic constipation from the angle of spleen deficiency and intestinal flora. The discussion aimed to offer no-vel strategies for the prevention and management of diabetic constipation.
