Curative Effect of Qige Tongluo Shujing Formula Combined with Acupuncture for Regulating Mind and Restoring Consciousness on Patients with Vertebral Artery Type Cervical Spondylosis
Objective To discuss the curative effect of Qige Tongluo Shujing Formula combined with acupuncture for regulating the mind and restoring consciousness on vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis.Methods A total of 135 patients with vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis admitted to Hengshui Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from September 2020 to September 2022 were selected.They were randomly divided into three groups,namely the acupuncture group,decoction group,and combined group,with 45 patients in each group.The decoction group was treated with Qige Tongluo Shujing Formula+conventional western medicine,and the acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture for reg-ulating the mind and restoring consciousness+conventional western medicine.The combined group was treated with Qige Tongluo Shujing Formula+acupuncture for regulating the mind and restoring consciousness+conventional western medi-cine.After three courses of treatment,the patients'curative effects,incidence of adverse reactions,TCM symptom scores be-fore and after treatment,blood flow velocity of vertebral artery[systolic blood flow velocity(Vs),diastolic blood flow veloci-ty(Vp),pulsatility index(PI),and resistance index(RI)],and levels of inflammatory factors[pigment epithelium-de-rived factor(PEDF),myeloid differentiation factor 88(MyD88),and toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)]were observed and com-pared.Results After treatment,the total clinical effective rate of the combined group(91.11％(41/45))was significantly higher than that of the decoction group(73.33％(33/45))and acupuncture group(71.11％(32/45)),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of TCM symptoms including neck pain and stiffness,tin-nitus and vertigo,mental fatigue and laziness to speak,palpitation,and insomnia in the three groups were all reduced(P＜0.05).The scores of TCM symptoms including neck pain and stiffness,tinnitus and vertigo,mental fatigue and laziness to speak,palpitation,and insomnia in the combined group were significantly lower than those in the decoction group and acu-puncture group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the Vs and Vp in the three groups were higher,while RI and PI were lower(P＜0.05).In addition,Vs and Vp in the combined group were significantly higher than those in the decoction group and acupuncture group,and RI and PI were significantly lower than those in the decoction group and acupuncture group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of inflammatory factors PEDF,MyD88,and TLR4 in the three groups were lower(P＜0.05).Moreover,the levels of inflammatory factors PEDF,MyD88,and TLR4 in the combined group were significantly low-er than those in the decoction group and acupuncture group(P＜0.05).During treatment,the incidence of adverse reac-tions in the combined group was 15.56％(7/45)compared with 11.11％(5/45)in the decoction group and 8.89％(4/45)in the acupuncture group,with no statistical significance(P＞0.05).Conclusion Qige Tongluo Shujing Formula combined with acupuncture for regulating the mind and restoring consciousness has a significant effect on the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis,and it can improve the TCM symptoms of patients,improve the blood flow velocity of vertebral artery,and inhibit the expression of inflammatory factors,with high safety.
