Study on Yang Zhi-min's Medication Rules for Treating Insomnia in Middle-aged and Young Adults Based on Data Mining
Objective This study aimed to utilize data mining techniques to analyze Professor Yang Zhi-min's outpatient treatment for insomnia in the middle-aged and young population.Specifically,the study seeks to explore the medication patterns employed by Professor Yang in treating this age group.Methods Outpatient medical records of Pro-fessor Yang Zhi-min were collected from January 1,2021 to January 1,2023,and cases where traditional Chinese medi-cine(TCM)prescriptions were used to treat insomnia in young and middle-aged adults were screened.The information of all prescriptions,including usage frequency,TCM properties,and therapeutic effects,was organized and analyzed using Ex-cel.Cluster analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics27,while association rule analysis and network graph drawing were conducted using IBM SPSS Modeler18.0.The connections and patterns among the TCM herbs used by Professor Yang Zhi-min in treating insomnia in young and middle-aged adults were analyzed.Result A total of 272 medical records were included,with a cumulative count of 2452 instances of Chinese herbal medicine use.The high-frequency TCM herbs were prepared licorice,cinnamon twig,ginger,ginseng,scutellaria baicalensis,jujube,pinellia ternata,and radices paeoniae rubra.Among the meridians,the spleen meridian exhibited the highest utilization of tonifying deficiency drugs,followed by exterior-releasing drugs and heat clearing drugs.The most commonly used medicinal properties and flavors were warm and sweet.The main drug pairs with the highest degree of correlation were roasted licorice-ginseng,ginger-jujube,and jujube-pinellia-baicalensis.Conclusion Professor Yang Zhi-min treatment for insomnia in middle-aged and young adults mainly focuses on harmonizing nutrient and defense Qi,nourishing Qi and blood,and regulating cold and heat.The key herbs employed include cinnamon twig,prepared licorice,ginseng,ginger,jujube,pinellia ternata,and bupleurum hinense.
