The article summarized the experience of chief physician Yao Peiyu in treating diabetic pruritus.The pathogenesis of diabetic pruritus is complex,often involving a mixture of deficiency and excess syndromes,including viscer-al diseases,imbalance of qi,blood,and body fluids,invasion of external pathogens,or internal generation of wind and dry-ness.The overall pathogenesis is prolonged thirst leading to deficiency of yin and blood,stagnation of dampness and stasis,and internal generation of wind-heat.Treatment should focus on the liver and lungs,emphasizing the combination of pro-moting blood circulation and clearing heat,and regulating wind to nourish blood throughout.Simultaneously,attention should be paid to psychological counseling to achieve harmony between body and mind.
