Effects of Huayu Shugan Decoction Combined with Entecavir on Hepatic Fibrosis and In-flammatory Cytokines in Patients with Hepatitis B-Related Decompensated Cirrhosis
Objective To observe the efficacy of Huayu Shugan decoction combined with entecavir on hepatic fi-brosis and inflammatory cytokines of patients with hepatitis B-related decompensated cirrhosis. Methods Eighty patients with hepatitis B-related decompensated cirrhosis diagnosed and treated in Meishan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medi-cine from May 2017 to May 2020 were selected and divided into a control group and a combination group according to the envelope method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with entecavir, and the combination group was treated with Huayu Shugan decoction in addition to entecavir. Both groups were treated for 6 months. The clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom scores, liver fibrosis indexes[hyaluronidase(HA),procollagen Ⅲ(PC Ⅲ),collagen Ⅳ(Ⅳ-C),laminin(LN)],liver function indexes[aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),and total bilirubin(TBiL)],inflammatory cytokines[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)]were observed and compared between two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the combination group was 92.50%(37/40),which was higher than that of the control group at 75.00%(30/40),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the symptom scores of abdominal distension, costal pain, fatigue, and dull complexion in both groups decreased compared with before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);moreover,the symptom scores in the combination group were sig-nificantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the lev-els of HA,PC Ⅲ,Ⅳ-C,and LN in both groups decreased compared to before treatment, and the difference was statistical-ly significant(P<0.05);moreover,the levels of HA,PC Ⅲ,Ⅳ-C,and LN in the combination group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of ALT,AST,and TBiL in both groups decreased compared to before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);moreover,the levels of ALT,AST,and TBiL in the combination group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,and HCT in both groups decreased compared with before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);moreover,the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,and HCT in the combination group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Huayu Shugan decoction combined with entecavir has a good effect in treating patients with hepatitis B-related decompensated cirrhosis, which can alleviate clinical symp-toms,reduce inflammation, and improve liver fibrosis and liver function.
