Efficacy of Maxing Shigan Decoction Combined with Azithromycin in Treatment of Pediatric Bronchopneumonia and Its Impact on Inflammatory Factors
Objective To explore and analyze the efficacy of Maxing Shigan decoction combined with azithromy-cin in the treatment of children with bronchopneumonia and its effect on inflammatory factors. Methods 89 children with bronchopneumonia admitted to Jiangyin Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2019 to December 2022 were selected and divided into a control group(44 cases)and an observation group(45 cases)according to a random number ta-ble.The control group was treated with azithromycin, while the observation group was treated with Maxing Shigan Decoction in addition to azithromycin, with one course of treatment lasting for 5 days. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was ob-served and compared, and the levels of pulmonary function(FE V1,PEF25,FVC),blood gases(PaO2,PaCO2),and inflam-matory factors[tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α),interleukin 6(IL-6),hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),procalcitonin(PCT)]were measured before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the ob-servation group was 95.56%(43/45),which was higher than that of the control group at 84.09%(37/44),with statisti-cally significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,hs-CRP,and PCT in children of both groups decreased significantly compared with before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);moreover,the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,hs-CRP,and PCT in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of FEV1,PEF25,FVC,and PaO2 in both groups were higher than before treatment, while the levels of PaCO2 in both groups were lower than before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The levels of FEV1,PEF25,FVC,and PaO2 in the observa-tion group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the level of PaCO2 was lower than that in the con-trol group, with statistical significance differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Maxing Shigan decoction and azithromycin in treating children with bronchopneumonia can effectively improve the total improvement rate, reduce levels of inflammatory factors such as TNF-α,IL-6,hs-CRP,and PCT,significantly improve lung function and blood gas status in children. This combination is greatly beneficial for the treatment of pediatric bronchopneumonia and should be widely applied in clinical treatment.
