Medication Rules of National Traditional Chinese Medicine Compound Patents for Treating Diabetic Retinopathy
Objective To analyze the compatibility regulation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)compound for treating diabetic retinopathy(DR)in the national patent database using data mining technology,providing insights for clinical treatment and new drug development for DR.Methods TCM compound patents for treating DR,announced on the website of the China National Intellectual Property Administration from its establishment to September 1,2023,were select-ed.The composition of the medicines was entered into an Excel to establish a database.The application frequency,medici-nal properties meridian,and association rules of the medicines were analyzed using the data mining module of the ancient and modern medical record cloud platform(V2.3.7).IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 software was used for systematic clustering analysis of high-frequency medicines in TCM compounds.Results A total of 76 TCM compounds,involving 175 medi-cines,were included.The most frequently used medicines were Astragali Radix,Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma,Lycii Fructus,Rehmanniae Radix,Notoginseng Radix Et Rhizoma,Dioscoreae Rhizoma,Puerariae Lobatae Radix,Chrysan-themi Flos.The primary properties of the medicines involved were slightly cold and cold,with sweet and bitter tastes,main-ly targeting the liver and kidney meridian.Association rules analysis identified four types of medicine pairs,Qi benefiting and blood circulation promoting,liver and kidney tonifying,blood circulation promoting and blood stasis removing,and Qi benefiting and Yin nourishing.Cluster analysis showed that the typical DR treatment compounds included Lycii Fructus,Cuscutae Semen,Chrysanthemi Flos,Plantaginis Semen,Chuanxiong Rhizoma,Buddlejae Flos,Ligustri Lucidi Fructus;An-gelicae Sinensis Radix,Moutan Cortex;Dioscoreae Rhizoma,Corni Fructus,Alismatis Rhizoma,Poria and Atractylodis Mac-rocephalae Rhizoma.Conclusions TCM compounds for treating DR emphasize both symptoms and root causes.It focuses on harmonizing the liver,spleen,and kidneys,and treating Qi,blood,and fluids simultaneously.The basic treatment meth-ods include tonifying Qi and nourishing Yin,tonifying liver and kidney,promoting blood circulation and removing blood sta-sis,supplemented by methods of promoting diuresis to drain dampness,cool the blood and stop bleeding.Commonly used compounds include Danggui Buxue Decoction,Zengye Decoction,Erzhi Pills,Zhujing Pills,Qiju Dihuang Pills,Siwu Wuzi Pills,Wuling Powder,and Shengpuhuang Decoction.These findings can provide references for the clinical treatment of DR and the development of new medicines.
